Plainfield Epoxy Flooring is an epoxy flooring company serving Plainfield, IL, with 20+ years of experience coating garage, basement and commercial concrete. We work on the floors people actually use hard: two- and three-car garages that take road salt every winter, basements that sit below the water table in a wet spring, and the shop, kitchen and warehouse floors that keep local businesses running.

What we have learned over those years is simple. Nearly every floor coating that fails does so because of the concrete underneath it, not because of the color on top, so the way we work is built around getting the slab right before anything else.

Plainfield also shapes how we work. The village spans Will and Kendall counties, much of its housing went up after 1990, and the DuPage River runs through it, so the same week can bring a young subdivision garage, a basement with a flood history and a restaurant kitchen headed for county plan review.

Our Approach

A crew member checking a diamond grinding plate on the bench of a coating shop in a Plainfield flex building.

Every slab we coat is opened mechanically with a diamond grinder or shot blaster; we do not acid etch. Moisture testing is part of the scope on every garage, basement and commercial floor, and we read the cracks, joints and any old coating before we quote, saying plainly when a slab needs repair or replacement first. On basements we start with where the water is coming from, because a coating is a finish and not waterproofing, and we never sell a floor coating as radon reduction.

Our proposals name the product, the system build and the finished thickness, and we quote per square foot for the system we are actually recommending. We read warranty exclusions out before the job is sold, moisture first. Illinois issues no state license for flooring work, so we confirm each village’s registration, bond and insurance rules before scheduling, and every home job gets a written contract and the state’s consumer-rights pamphlet. Curing is scheduled against slab temperature and dew point, grinding dust is collected at the machine, and commercial floors are planned around the hours a building has to stay open.

What We Do

We install epoxy garage floors, polyaspartic floor coatings, basement floor epoxy, flake and metallic epoxy floors and polished concrete floors for homeowners, along with commercial epoxy flooring, commercial kitchen flooring, warehouse floor coatings and ESD flooring for businesses. We also provide concrete grinding and concrete floor repair, on their own or as part of a new floor. If you are planning a project, request a free estimate and we will come out, look at the slab and give you a written proposal.
